I try to set up Wing ftp, to use for our customers abroad. But it seems that the web client is not working, outside of our network. When I'm in the office and go to http://serverip" rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow, i can acces the ftp server throught the webclient but when i use the ftp://externalserverip" rel="nofollow" rel="nofollow through a computer (out of our network) it is working.
We have a ms windows 2008 server behind a firewall connected to a workgroup network, (no domain installed) only setup through the wing ftp setup. Win IIS is installed but no ftp installed.
As you probably guessed I'm quite a noob in servers and networking but I would appreciate all the help I can get.
thanks and cheers,
soren

So it seems you haven't forwarded the HTTP port in your firewall. Just check it or other network environment settings.
Or please check whether you added some IP access rules.

Re: web client (http) only possible on local network
I've changed the configuration settings of the router and changed the connection of the server through filter rules and seconly setup a NAT rule which forwards the ports from the external address to the internal address.
It seemed liked it worked but I could only get into the administrator web client instead of the user web client.
Did i do the configuration incorrect or is there something wrong in windows firewall?

Web administration is separated from web client, the default port for web admin is 5466. And the default port for web client is 80, so you just need to forward port 5466 and port 80.
