Dear WingFTP team,

do you plan to add file/folder download hash function? To increase security on file downloads and to prevent transport manipulation, our customers are requesting this feature more and more.

It would be great to have a feature to see the file hash in the online UI, maybe a new column or via context menu. It should be automatically created as SHA-256, in addition show the MD-5 hash for compatiblity reasons (optional).

We use WingFTP in our company to share product data and downloads (e.g. driver updates) with our customers. But upcoming new regulations are forcing us to increase download security. If WingFTP will not have this feature in the near future, we may be forced to use another file share solution, which is definitely not our intention :(

OK, we will consider to add a function for showing hash code of a selected file.

The new version 8.2.0 has been released, it added a feature "Show CRC SHA256" in web client.

Perfect, it works quite well in the modern UI. Thanks for your really fast support to add this feature.

I was asked if it is possible to add this feature as column to Weblink view. What is your opinion about that? Or maybe as a second button next to "Download"?

Sorry, it is not possible to add this feature as column, because this is a time-consuming operation.
