I have to rekey the wildcard godaddy cert I am using on my WingFTP server.

I just took over administrator of the server. Can I use IIS on the server to create a .CSR and submit to godaddy then download the cert and complete signing request and then import it into the WingFTP server?

IIS is not installed on the server right now so I am not sure how the cert was created initially.

We use a web based connection for the server.
I am not sure how the certificate is used for the alias.wildcardgodaddycert.com url that I is configured

Yes, you can use an existing wild card cert, just make sure it is a standard PEM format, otherwise, please convert it into standard PEM format.

If you want to generate a signed cert from Godaddy, just download the cert file as "Other" server type.
