Weblinks not working

Post by RhysHead »

Hi,

Got a strange issue with our server.

We're running the latest version (6.6.5) on Windows 2016 std

Can browse the folders using HTTPS perfectly fine, select the required file and click download and get the following error:

This site can’t be reached
The web page at https://ftp.XXXXX.com/main.html?download&weblink=470b971411748a5e5265c31ab44c7821&realfilename=XXXXX.zip

might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE

The "Enable file download link" option is selected and I see the link created in the _Weblink folder

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Rhys

If you just upgraded from an old version, you can try to delete the file "Data/bookmark_db" and restart WingFTP service, then it will rebuild the SQLite database records.

I have this error too.

Attempted the delete of the bookmark_db file (Must have already stopped the service)

Restarted the service - and the same error persists. SFTP downloads are unaffected. Just the weblinks.

I have upgraded to 7.0.2 and this fault is still present.

I think the dedupe service was the cause of our issues...

Switching it off seemed to immediately fix the weblinks.

Run the following command from a Porershell (Admin) prompt:

Start-DedupJob -Volume X: -Type unoptimization (Where X is the volume you data is held).

The new version 7.0.7 fixed an issue related to Windows Data Deduplication service.
So please upgrade to this version (or newer version), then you can keep using Deduplication service.
